After a crazy two days the ICU Cheer Worlds (April 25th-26th) is now over. The amount of talent shown on each day was truly spectacular with the effort from each Australian team more than exceptional.

Each year the competition continues to improve and be outdone year after year. Australia should be incredibly proud of the talent and hard work from the Aussie teams.

This year’s Worlds proved to be Australia’s most successful with 3 x silver medals and 1 x bronze medal.

Level 5 all girl – 2nd places (only trained 6 times together)

Team pom- 5th place (out of 21, best result by Australian pom team at worlds ever)

Team Jazz – 3rd Place

All girl group stunt – 2nd place

Partner stunt- 2nd place

Unfortunately the level 5 co-ed team did not place in top 3 although the routine was great. The competition was tough and a couple of unfortunate falls took place, however saying that the level 5 team still managed to be fantastic and show the world how skilled we are.

Huge congratulations to all athletes and coaches for their tremendous effort over the past two days.

‘Australia is very highly regarded and respected by the international cheer & dance community as every year we have medalled and obtained better results.’  – AASCF Facebook page

Routines are currently up on the ICU website so take a look at not only the routines from Australia but many other teams who produced routines of such high standards.

The competition has proven to be a great success for not only Australia but for the Cheerleading world, hopefully this encourages the Olympic committee to go ahead with having the sport included in the Olympics.

Australian teams Outlaws, Bradshaw, EOD, ECA and Gymstars competed in the USASF/IASF World’s shortly after ICU Worlds and continued to show the U.S how great our teams are. The Outlaws placed 4th and became 2nd (U.S.A 1st) out of all countries competing, Bradshaw jazz team taking away 3rd place, EOD 6th place, ECA 7th  and Gymstars 12th. Fantastic job by all teams and all should be extremely proud of their efforts and results.

Well done everyone and congratulations.

Go Aussies, Tegan xx
